Here at Abbott, every product we make is inspired by nature, so it only makes sense that we strive to be friendly to the earth and to our bodies.
We use the cleanest and safest ingredients possible: no parabens, no phthalates, no sulfates and no BHT. Fine fragrances do not need to be toxic or irritating.
We never use animal products, all of our fragrances are cruelty-free and vegan, and we choose ingredients that have the least possible impact on the natural environment.
And unlike most fragrance companies, we disclose our full list of ingredients. Below you will find the full list of ingredients for each of the fragrances in our collection.
Yes, these ingredients are created in a lab by humans. Though they've gotten a bad rap, synthetic alternatives of natural ingredients are a way to conserve raw materials if they are clean and from sustainable sources.
Most people don't think about it, but your body absorbs the chemicals in personal care products. This can be an issue when fragrances are created from full synthetics, entirely petroleum by-products. Safe synthetics consider this and are deemed safe because they align with health and safety standards.
Many essential oils cause skin irritation or an allergic reaction. This laboratory process helps dilute the intensity of the elements so that it is not harmful to the consumer.
From a business standpoint, the use of synthetics also allows for consistency. Aside from being sustainable, they also last longer. Naturally, the chemical compositions of natural ingredients can vary. Synthetics help standardize the quality of a product.
Keep in mind that many of the chemicals named in fragrance blends may look complex, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they aren’t clean.
The more we understand about the safe synthetics in “fragrance” and the source of those ingredients, the better we can decipher clean brands from ones that do not meet our standards.
This means you may still see the word “fragrance” on the ingredients list for some perfumes and candles. This is the proper term for ingredient blends according to the International Nomenclature of Cosmetics Ingredients rules, which we support.
