Why the name introvert?
An introvert, living in a world that often feels created for extroverts can be exhausting. Years in school and jobs that were not best suited for me lead to daily or even hourly stress and anxiety. With every uncomfortable situation came a sense of shame or lacking because it didn't come easy and wasn't enjoyable for me. I felt depleted.
Enter the hero of the story- Self-Care.
Without knowing this is what I was doing, taking this time for self-care is how I recharged. While my self-care routines have evolved over the years, what remained constant was the importance of the time itself. As I became more aware of my personal needs to recharge, I also grew more interested in understanding other personalities and their needs.
The awareness of these differences created a shift in my mindset. I began to love my introverted personality quirks. What I needed to learn were boundaries.
I can do the meetings; I'll go to the party and have a blast, but now I have the awareness to know that packing a day full of meetings means I have to say NO to events in the evening. Going to a party on a Saturday means I will need Sunday all to myself in my home. Setting these boundaries allows me to maintain a healthy balance in my life.
There was a time (and maybe it still exists) when being an introvert was seen as a flaw. I call BS. Naming this company introvert was a conscious decision to flip the script. It was an act of self-acceptance and an invitation for others to do the same. For a long time, this vision was just that, a vision. The willingness to make it real meant being vulnerable. I would have to actively strengthen parts of my personality that I tend to shy away from. And to recharge- I come to introvert.
introvert is a curation of products for you to enjoy in your space. From the skincare on your bathroom sink to the small items around your home that offer both beauty and functionality, you'll want to slow down and turn the mundane into ritual.
What about extroverts?
It's for you too! It's all about balance. While I might need a whole day, maybe a healthy balance for you is just an hour to yourself. Either way, self-care is an important practice to incorporate into your day.
Make it a ritual and make it luxurious, because why not?
